The resale value of a lab-grown diamond is generally lower than that of a natural diamond due to the lower cost of production and the fact that they are not as rare. Many traditional jewelers tell customers that Lab Created Diamonds have absolutely no value, but this could not be further from the truth. Most Earth-Mined Diamonds have resale value, and most Lab Created Diamonds will have a similar resale value, as well.

They can be passed on through generations or sold back to a reputable jeweler, like Samuelson's, should you want or need to sell later. Lab-grown diamonds can only be resold once– and then they're gone forever, which is why lab grown diamonds have no resale value.

With lower prices for lab-grown and young people increasingly preferring them, the new diamonds have cut into the market share for natural stones. Globally, lab-grown diamonds are now 5-6% of the market and the traditional industry is not taking it sitting down.
